GENERAL INFORMATION Police Station 10 was established in 1996. It is a (2) storey building which is in present are under renovation for developing the facilities and internal edifice of the building thru the supervision of present Chief of Police, supported by the Local Government Unit of Brgy Handumanan thru the leadership of Brgy Chairman Ricardo A Danoy Sr and its Brgy Council. It is situated in Zone 7, of Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City. The ground floor level is used to be the main office of the building wherein its detention cell also found. While the second floor level is being utilized as a multi-purpose floor, to wit: as conference hall, and a billeting place for the personnel. Police Station 10 Area of Responsibility (AOR) are consist of two Barangay; Barangay Handumanan is a 7.3 kilometer SE (Southeast) from Bacolod City Hall. Formerly, it was part of Barangay Cabug, Felisa and Mansilingan. But pursuant to Bacolod City Ordinance Nr 9, dated November 17, 1985, Barangay Handumanan became the 61st chartered Barangay of the City of Bacolod. Originally the city government of Bacolod to be utilized as a relocation site for the squatters who occupied the city proper purchased this Barangay. Handumanan is local vernacular, which means, “Remembrance or Souvenir,” and it is composed of a total land area of 95.04 hectares. It is consisted of 39 Puroks, and has a total population of 28,694 based on Barangay Handumanan Population Survey as of January 2011. There are 21 Barangay Tanods who supported the personnel of this station in maintaining the peace and order in the area. The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Phase 6B, the Handumanan Public Market ;located in Zone 9, the newly occupied Handumanan Mini-Market in Phase 4, the BACIWA Pumping Station in NGO Village, the inoperative Bacolod City Slaughter House in Phase 4, and the Amar Emporium Handumanan Branch are the newly structures/business establishment in Barangay Handumanan. Barangay Felisa was created in 1963 pursuant to Presidential Decree 557, in order to provide a popular participation in shaping-up public policy. This Barangay is named after the late Doña Felisa Aliguin, wife of Don Ricardo Aliguin. The said couple donated the hectare of land which provides the site for the elementary school. This, it was subsequently named in honor of Doña Felisa. Barangay Felisa is composed of 854.789 hectares and it is located fourteen (14) kilometers away south of Bacolod City. The geographical location of this Barangay is as follows: north is Barangay Handumanan; south is Bago City; east are Murcia, Negros Occidental; and Barangay Sum-ag is the west. It is composed of sixteen (16) Puroks and populated by 5,948 residents. There are twenty (20) Barangay Tanods who helped personnel of this station in insuring the public peace and order in the area.
